Originally from England, owner of the salon, Amanda Burroughs spent years working as a stylist on hyper-elite cruise ships. The finest in the world, in fact. Beautifying people from around the globe was exhilarating and educational.
She says working on the residents and visitors of South Lake is similar.
I love helping make people feel better. You can wear anything, but if your hair doesn’t look good, you don’t feel good.
“I love everything about Tahoe, it’s heaven on earth,” Burroughs exclaims. “I love helping make people feel better. You can wear anything, but if your hair doesn’t look good, you don’t feel good.”
Burroughs puts her 30 years of styling experience to fabulous use at Imagine, which she took over in 2012. Boasting an extensive repertoire of services, the full-service salon instills splendor on all who enter with make-up, hair styling, color, blow-out and wedding party offerings.
The salon prides itself on providing a truly customized, personal experience. Guests are greeted with luxurious little touches like chocolate cake and sparkling wine. Product lines are top-tier, such as using Aveda color, which is renowned for its quality and highly customizable. Depending on individual needs and desires, several other product lines are available, including Color proof , Moroccan Oil and Bumble and Bumble.
Burroughs’ team possesses more than a century of combined experience and are more than just a group of stylists who come and go. They’re salaried employees vested in making you look stunning.
On top of that, Imagine Salon is a family business, with her husband Sean behind the scenes, her mother at the receptionist desk, and her carefully curated styling team the extended clan she’s helped foster.
They strive to make anyone seeking beautification at Imagine feel extraordinary.
After 10 weeks of closure during the pandemic, she elevated her own education by attending the Vidal Sassoon school online, virtually learning from the world’s best stylists she may not have had the opportunity to learn from otherwise. Now, she’s excited to keep furthering her stylists’ professional progression as well.
“It’s important to keep ahead of the curve,” Burroughs says. “I really want to work with stylists to help them grow and make customers glow.”
